Presidents Cup Paintings and Prints
The match between the United States and an International team, played at Medinah in September 2026.
The Presidents Cup is a team match between the United States and an International team of players from outside Europe, organized by the PGA Tour. It was first played in 1994 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia and was created to give the leading players from Australia, South Africa, Asia, South America and elsewhere a team event of their own. Each side has 12 players, and like the Ryder Cup, it is played entirely at match play over four days of foursomes, four-balls and singles.
Through 2024 the United States had won 13 of the 15 matches, with one International victory, in 1998, and one tie, in 2003, but the competition has produced many close finishes, and its format and friendly spirit have given it a character of its own. The event alternates between the United States and venues abroad.
Two courses in Linda Hartough's collection have hosted the Presidents Cup. Muirfield Village, Jack Nicklaus's course in Dublin, Ohio, hosted it in 2013. Medinah Country Club's Course No. 3, outside Chicago, hosts the 16th Presidents Cup in September 2026, with play from September 24 to 27. Brandt Snedeker captains the American team and Geoff Ogilvy the International team.
The collection's Presidents Cup courses are represented by the 18th at Muirfield Village and the 13th at Medinah, the hole Linda Hartough painted for the 1990 U.S. Open. Medinah's course has since been redesigned, and that 13th, a long par 3 over an arm of Lake Kadijah, is no longer played in its original form.

#13 Medinah Country Club, 1990 U.S. Open Championship
The 13th at Medinah's No. 3 course is its signature par-3, a long one-shotter that must carry an arm of Lake Kadijah with nothing but water and mature timber for company. Three bunkers ring a green that slopes right to left, and the wind off the lake turns club selection into the whole test. All carry, no bailout, no second chances.
#18 Muirfield Village Golf Club
The 18th hole at Muirfield Village is a par-4 that serves as a thrilling conclusion to Jack Nicklaus’s masterpiece. The tee shot demands both power and precision. The approach shot is no less dramatic, as the green is elevated and protected by water on the left and bunkers on the right, requiring pinpoint accuracy. The green itself is undulating and fast, testing even the steadiest nerves.
