About the Artist
Linda Hartough
Linda Hartough is widely regarded as the foremost painter of golf landscapes in the world. For over four decades, her luminous oil paintings and limited edition prints have celebrated the natural beauty of championship golf courses across the United States, Scotland, England, and Ireland.
A resident of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Linda was commissioned by the United States Golf Association in 1989 to paint the first of 25 U.S. Open course paintings. The 13th hole at Medinah, painted for the 1990 U.S. Open, was the first to be completed.
Her paintings of the holes of Augusta National Golf Club have become some of the best-known works in golf art.
The prints
Each signed limited edition print is produced on the finest materials (Canvas Giclée, Grande Canvas Giclée, and Paper Giclée) and is available as a Limited Edition or Artist Proof. Many prints are also available with custom framing.
Glossary of Terms
- Original
- The oil painting itself, one of a kind, painted by Linda Hartough.
- Limited Edition
- A print run capped at a fixed number of copies. Each print is signed and numbered, and no more are made once the edition sells out.
- Artist Proof
- A small set of prints pulled alongside a limited edition, traditionally reserved for the artist and marked AP instead of numbered.
- Remarque
- A print with a small original drawing or painting added by the artist in the margin, which makes each one unique.
- Open Edition
- A print that is not limited to a set number of copies.
- Giclée
- A fine art print made with archival pigment inks on an inkjet printer, prized for color accuracy and longevity.
- Canvas Giclée
- A giclée printed on artist canvas, with the texture and feel of a painting.
- Grande Canvas Giclée
- A canvas giclée at the largest size offered for an image.
- Fine Art Paper
- A giclée or lithograph printed on heavy archival paper, usually framed under glass.
